Role of Women in the Church Pt. 2 (May/Jun 2001)

Women have been excluded from teaching and leading in the Christian Church, historically and currently. 1 Timothy 2:11-15 has been used to support this stance. This teaching clarifies the meaning of these verses by exploring the Gnostic "myths" and "false doctrines," against which Paul was warning Timothy. Also in the teaching are some highlights of noted women in the Bible, and studies of Hebrew and Greek words, which have been "watered down" in translation when applied to women.
